On December 4, information circulated on social media about the destruction of tandoors in Andijan to combat air pollution. The regional administration commented on the incident.
It was revealed that the Andijan region’s Shahrixon district governor decided to instruct the working group to demolish the tandoors in public catering establishments to combat air pollution. The regional administration reported that the official received disciplinary action for negligence. A preventative conversation was also held to prevent such incidents from recurring.
It’s worth noting that Tashkent region governor Zoyir Mirzayev stated that one of the reasons for the high incidence of cancer among women was the loss of the habit of baking bread in the tandoor. He stated that this was one of the important factors that people have lost, because now most homes have no tandoors and no bread is baked, and women have now “carefully accustomed their husbands to bitter bread”.
