Hundreds of Tashkent residents were fined for repeated dumping of garbage in unauthorized places

In 10 cases, law enforcement officers punished citizens for up to 23 violations.

Since the beginning of 2025, more than seven hundred people in Tashkent have been fined for dumping garbage in unauthorized places from three to seven times, the capital’s press service reports.

According to the information, during this period, law enforcement officers drew up more than 800 administrative protocols. During this period, law enforcement officers detained 772 citizens who committed this offense from three to seven times.

Another 26 individuals discarded garbage more than 8 times, and in 10 cases, the violation was committed up to 23 times in a row. Specialists recorded the largest number of offenses in the Almazar, Uchtepa, and Yunusobod districts.

It is noted that the guards imposed fines on the offenders in accordance with Article 161 (Violation of landscaping rules) of the Code of Administrative Offenses, which provides for a fine of 1 to 3 BCV (412 thousand to 1.2 million soums) for citizens and 3 to 5 BCV (1.2 to 2.06 million soums) for officials.

Earlier, it was reported that 18 landfills with waste would be closed in Uzbekistan by the end of the year. In a few years, it is planned to launch capacities for processing 14 thousand tons of waste per day.
