Gas stations have begun checking for the presence of prohibited AI-80
Specialists have identified millions of liters of substandard fuel since the beginning of the year.

In Uzbekistan, law enforcement officers have begun conducting raids at gas stations to check the quality of petroleum products, the press service of “Uzenergoinspeksiya” reports.
According to the information, specialists are conducting control measures for AI-80 gasoline. In particular, during the raids conducted from November 26 to December 2, 2025, specialists selected 191 samples from 90 oil refineries. Based on the results of the inspection, in 23 cases, non-compliance of quality with the requirements of the state standard was revealed.
Thus, specialists identified 306,430 liters of substandard goods. Overall, since the beginning of the year, law enforcement officers have inspected 632 facilities and, based on the results of inspections, discovered 8,576,466 liters of substandard petroleum products at 210 of them. The specialists suspended their sale, and also issued instructions to restore the quality of the products.
Earlier, Central Bank Chairman Timur Ishmetov said that the cancellation of AI-80 gasoline production and sales would affect inflation in Uzbekistan. According to the expert, the situation will affect not only current prices but also the expectations of the population.
