In Syrdarya, foreigners were punished for smoking from a 2000 sum banknote, the press service of the regional Department of Internal Affairs reports.

It was revealed that the incident occurred on December 23. The violators turned out to be employees of one of the enterprises in the Syrdarya region. An administrative case has been initiated against them under Article 184-3 (Preparation, storage, or distribution of materials that incite national, racial, ethnic, or religious hatred).

The court imposed a fine of 100 BCV (41.2 million soums) on each foreigner. In addition, the employer terminated their employment contracts.

As a reminder, the video was posted by the owner of the Kichik Se account on the WeChat page. The video participants are Chinese workers at the enterprise. They set fire to the national currency of Uzbekistan with a denomination of 2 thousand soums, and then threw cigarettes into the fire and laughed.
