Explosion and fire happen at gas station in Andijan — video
The cause was a technical failure during the discharge of propane from the fuel tanker.
On 5 September, news of a fire at a gas station circulated on social networks. The Andijan Regional Department of Emergency Situations issued a statement on the incident.
It was revealed that the fire report was received at 12:05. A technological failure occurred in the area of the liquefied and compressed gas filling station when discharging propane from a MAN fuel tanker with a capacity of about 5 tons. As a result, an explosion and fire occurred.
According to the report, fire and rescue units arrived at the scene at 12:13. The fire was localised at 12:26 PM and extinguished at 1:03 PM. There is no information about the victims.
It’s worth recalling that a similar explosion happened in Kashkadarya earlier, leading to four fatalities. The fuel storage tank burst, and the area was soon engulfed in flames. Following this incident, four gas stations in the Syrdarya region were shut down due to the high risk of another occurrence.
