Dozens of websites in Uzbekistan have been blocked for bookmakers’ advertising

About 70 websites promoting bookmaking services were blocked in Uzbekistan, the press service of the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Protection reports.

The department reported that since the beginning of the year, the supervisory authority has received data on the blocking of 86 websites promoting bookmaking services. As a result, about 70 of them were blocked in the prescribed manner. Currently, the committee continues systematic monitoring in this direction.

It is noted that the blocking of websites is carried out in accordance with Article 46 of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Advertising”, which prohibits the advertising of gambling and other games based on risk. Also, to work more effectively, the department has established cooperation with relevant organizations.
