In two regions of Uzbekistan, law enforcement officers were able to stop attempts to smuggle drugs, the press service of the Department of Internal Affairs reports.
According to the information, the first case occurred in Tashkent. Law enforcement officers detained two citizens aged 47 and 52, who attempted to extract 19 kg 80 grams of narcotics from the hiding place. Law enforcement officers found out that the location of the hiding places was given to the offenders by their acquaintances.
As a result, law enforcement officers initiated a criminal case under Article 273, Part 5 (Illegal manufacture, acquisition, storage, and other actions with narcotic drugs, their analogues, or psychotropic substances for the purpose of sale, as well as their sale). The man faces 10 to 20 years in prison.
In another case, which occurred in the Uchkurgan district of Namangan region, law enforcement officers detained citizens aged 30 and 32. Both men were couriers and also tried to extract 10 kg of hashish from the cache. During the investigation, it was revealed that the detainees acted under the guidance of members of the criminal group, who also transmitted the coordinates of the hiding places to them.
Law enforcement officers detained one of the organizers — a 24-year-old citizen of the country, and another citizen of Kyrgyzstan was arrested. It is noted that law enforcement officers have also initiated a criminal case under Article 273, Part 5 (Illegal manufacture, acquisition, storage, and other actions with narcotic drugs, their analogues, or psychotropic substances for the purpose of sale, as well as their sale).
Earlier, it was reported that a mother and her sons were involved in drug trafficking near Tashkent. Law enforcement officers solved the criminal chain.
