Another raid on drug smuggling has taken place in Uzbekistan
Law enforcement officers have opened cases, an investigation is underway.

In Uzbekistan, raids aimed at combating transnational organized drug crime were conducted, during which law enforcement officers managed to seize 111 kg of psychotropic substances, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
According to the information, as a result of an international operational-search event, law enforcement officers were able to identify and suppress the activities of an international drug group operating from the country’s territory. In particular, law enforcement officers detained 6 members of the OCG in three regions of the country.
Thus, in the Fergana region, law enforcement officers detained a citizen while receiving a batch of drugs, and two other members of the group were detained in the Andijan region while attempting to extract 10 kg of hashish from a cache. There, in a local cafe, law enforcement officers managed to detain two more participants while attempting to buy a kilogram of opium for $6,000.
In addition, in the city of Angren, Tashkent region, a citizen was detained while receiving 5 kg of opium. It turned out that the man had previously been convicted three times. It is noted that the transnational group had been distributing drugs in the Fergana, Andijan, and Tashkent regions and Tashkent for several years.
As a result, law enforcement officers initiated criminal cases under the relevant articles in all cases. Currently, investigative actions are underway.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbeks were caught smuggling drugs in Turkey, including blogger Jasmin. The country’s Consulate General reported that the detainees were sent to a closed correctional facility.
