An Uzbek woman attempted to make money by recruiting soldiers to join the war in Ukraine
Law enforcement officers apprehended a female criminal attempting to smuggle a volunteer into Russia.

In Navoi region, a woman who tried to earn money by recruiting citizens to participate in the conflict in Ukraine on Russia’s side was convicted, Kun reports.
In October 2024, a previously convicted woman, at the suggestion of a person whose criminal case has been separated into separate proceedings, went to Samara.
There, they developed a plan — to involve Uzbeks in the war and receive material benefits for this. In January 2025, the criminal returned to her homeland. She offered the man to participate in combat operations for $7,000 a month and up to $40,000 a year.
She sent the recruit’s passport details via messenger to her accomplice in Russia. She was apprehended by officers of the State Security Service for Navoi region while attempting to transport a man through the “Navoi” customs post in Tashkent region to Russia.
At the court hearing, the woman admitted her guilt and asked the court for leniency. She was sentenced to three years in prison under the relevant article of the Criminal Code. The appellate court of the Criminal Cases Collegium of the Navoi Regional Court left the verdict unchanged.
