A worker died at a construction site in Tashkent following a crane collapse — video
The cause was the failure to comply with technical requirements during equipment installation.

On 8 September, a crane struck a worker at a construction site in Tashkent. Eyewitnesses reported this to the NOVA24 bot. The Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety Committee commented on the incident.
It was revealed that the incident occurred around 16:10 hours during the installation of a tower crane on Tirsakobod Street in the area of the “Dombirabod City” residential complex under construction in Chilanzar district. The crane operator, who was in the cabin, died from a severe impact. Two more workers have been hospitalised.
It is reported that during the installation work, the organisation responsible for the crane installation did not adhere to the technical requirements. Because the supporting parts of the crane, which hold its base, were not securely fixed, the crane tilted to the side as it moved to install the next section.
As a result, the crane’s two unsecured supporting “legs” lifted and the crane toppled. A panel of experts has been assembled for the technical investigation.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 257, Part 2, Clauses “a” and “b” of the Criminal Code (Violation of labour protection rules resulting in death or other serious consequences), with the offenders facing up to five years of imprisonment and the deprivation of certain rights.
