A woman who stole a baby from a maternity hospital in Jizzakh has been sentenced
The accused took one of the newborn twins from the ward, posing as a doctor.
In the Jizzakh region, a woman who stole a baby from a maternity hospital has been sentenced, reports the Supreme Court’s press service.
According to the department, the accused was found guilty under Article 137, Part 2, Clauses “a”, “b” (Kidnapping of a minor for mercenary or other base motives). Also under Part 1 of Article 168 (Fraud). She was sentenced to 5 years and a month in prison. Later, the woman filed an appeal, but left the verdict unchanged.
Recall that the incident occurred on January 31 in the Jizzakh region. An unknown woman kidnapped a baby right from the maternity hospital. An unknown woman, 25-30 years old, wearing a medical mask without a robe, entered the mother’s room and said that one of the born twins had health problems and needed to be taken to a doctor’s examination, after which she took the baby away and disappeared.
