A two-year-old child died in a road accident in Khorezm

Two drivers collided, lost control, and hit a boy at a pedestrian crossing.

On September 17, a child died on the roadside in the Khorezm region as a result of a two-car accident, the press service of the regional Department of Internal Affairs reported.

The incident occurred around 9:00 AM in the Yangiariq district at the 1st kilometer of the highway passing through the territory of the “Angarik” mahalla. The 34-year-old driver of the Nexia was about to turn left. At that moment, the 33-year-old driver of the Cobalt, who was driving behind and trying to overtake the Nexia, collided with him.

After being hit, he lost control and hit a two-year-old child who was at the pedestrian crossing. As a result of the accident, the child died on the spot from his injuries. The Investigative Group under the Yangiariq District Police Department is conducting a preliminary investigation into the incident.

As a reminder, Tashkent plans to increase the speed limit to 80 km/h on five streets. Also, to prevent traffic jams and accidents, authorities plan to introduce one-way traffic on 12 streets.
