A state attorney caught taking a large bribe in Sirdarya

In the Syrdarya region, State Security Service officers detained a lawyer for a large bribe, the press service of the department reports.

The man, using his official position, demanded $5,500 for the transfer of a citizen involved in the criminal case as a suspect from the Khavas district detention center (№8 detention center) to the temporary detention facility of the Syrdarya District Department of Internal Affairs, as well as for the subsequent “favorable” resolution of the case in court.

The lawyer was caught red-handed while receiving $4,500 and 6 million soums. It turned out that a lawyer was involved to provide legal assistance to the suspect at the expense of the state. A criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 168 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code, Part 3, Clause “v”, and Article 28,211 of the Criminal Code, Part 1. An investigation is underway.

Recall that in Tashkent, a former tax officer was caught taking a large bribe. The man promised to resolve the entrepreneur’s monetary issue through a Senior Inspector of the Tax Committee.
