Japan has issued a tsunami warning following a 7.2 magnitude sea earthquake at a depth of approximately 33 kilometers, BILD reports.
The epicenter was approximately 70 kilometers from the shore. A tsunami warning was issued for the area around Aomori Prefecture. According to NHK, a crisis group has been formed in the Prime Minister’s office. The authorities issued an order to evacuate several coastal settlements.
Japan’s meteorological services warn of waves up to three meters high.
Earlier, Uzbekistan experienced the third earthquake in two days. The tremors were felt in several regions of the country.
