A man in Jizzakh was convicted of causing grievous bodily harm to his wife
The citizen accused his wife of his son driving in his car and being fined, after which he beat her with a metal teapot.

On September 26, a man in the Jizzakh region was sentenced to 4 years of restricted freedom for domestic violence, NeMolchi reports.
The incident occurred on October 25, 2024, at 06:30. The man went out into the yard of his house and found his car missing. Later he learned that his son had been detained and fined for driving without documents at night. He blamed his wife for the incident, who allegedly assured him that the spare key was missing but gave it to his son.
He grabbed a metal teapot for water and threw it at his wife. According to the forensic medical examination report, the woman sustained a life-threatening serious injury. The man was found guilty under Article 126-1, Part 6 (Family (domestic) violence).
The court sentenced the man to 4 years of restricted freedom with a ban on leaving his place of residence, except for the time required for work, commuting to work, and returning home. In the cassation appeal, the convict requested to lift the sentence of restriction of liberty imposed on him, taking into account his personal and family situation.
The Judicial Collegium, having heard the judge’s report, the prosecutor’s opinion on leaving the court’s verdict unchanged and the appeal unsatisfied, as well as the opinion of the convicted person and his defense counsel, deemed it necessary to leave the court’s verdict unchanged and the cassation appeal unsatisfied for a number of reasons.
The court of first instance took into account mitigating circumstances when imposing punishment on the defendant, including his full confession of guilt, sincere remorse for his actions, absence of a criminal record, having a child in his care, status as the sole breadwinner in the family, his apology to his spouse and reconciliation with her, absence of claims from the victim against him, absence of aggravating circumstances,” the statement said.
The Judicial Collegium deemed the arguments of the appellate complaint insufficient to overturn the verdict and left the verdict of the court of first instance unchanged.
Recall that in Fergana, a pensioner brutally beat his wife. Due to injuries, the woman was unable to seek help on her own, her daughter helped her.
