A fire broke out at a school in Tashkent

A video of a fire at school No. 208 in the Mirzo-Ulugbek district of Tashkent has been circulating on social media. The Ministry of Emergency Situations commented on the situation.

The incident occurred on October 13. At 17:23, the Emergency Situations Department of Tashkent received a report about a fire on the roof of an empty building located on the territory of school No. 208, where repair work was being carried out.

Fire and rescue teams arrived at the scene at 17:28. The fire was localized at 17:39 and completely extinguished at 17:42.

There were no staff or students at the school during the incident. As a result of the fire, no one was injured. The suspected cause of the fire was non-compliance with fire safety regulations during the repair work. Currently, the amount of material damage is being determined.
