Uzbekistanis have become less likely to buy foreign cars
At the same time, the sale of electric vehicles has increased significantly.

In September, the sale of passenger cars amounted to 84.6 thousand units, a decrease of 6.4% compared to August, according to the Center’s analysis.
The largest decrease was noted in Surkhandarya and Navoi regions, as well as in Tashkent. At the same time, sales growth rates were recorded in Syrdarya and Tashkent regions. The segment of new passenger cars in September showed a moderate seasonal decline in activity, sales decreased by 15.2% and amounted to 31.9 thousand units.
Within the segment, domestically produced new passenger cars maintained their dominant position, reaching a sales volume of 27.4 thousand units with a decrease of 16.1% compared to the previous month. Sales of new foreign brands amounted to 4.5 thousand units, which is 8.9% lower than in August.
In September, the sale of passenger cars in the secondary market amounted to 52.6 thousand units, which is 0.1% less than in the previous month. In September, a record 7.8 thousand electric vehicles were sold, which is 21.6% higher than in August.
In the 3rd quarter of 2025, the number of sold light electric vehicles amounted to 20.7 thousand units, with an annual increase of 2.2 times over the same period. The largest growth was recorded in Tashkent and Samarkand regions, as well as in Tashkent.
As a reminder, UzAuto stopped free sales of some cars due to officials refusing foreign cars. A premium Tahoe worth over a billion soums has also been restricted.
