Testing of new cars will cease at the Pskent test site
The country has seen an increase in the number of official dealers and service centres.

Starting 2nd September, testing of new vehicles at the Pskent test site will be discontinued, according to the press service of the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation.
Cars were tested in Pskent because they were imported into the country without confirmation of compliance with the technical regulations. Specialists had to conduct individual tests. Until 2024, only three dealerships operated in the republic, receiving permits for just 15 models.
However, now 21 foreign dealerships are officially operating, and certificates confirming the type have been issued for more than 100 car models. This has enabled the creation of a system for supplying certified, safe, and guaranteed vehicles, and consumers now have the opportunity to purchase different brands from official dealerships.
Thus, from 2 September 2025, testing of cars at the Pskent test site will cease, as the number of official dealerships and service centres has grown substantially in the country, and the practice of working with them has become more stable. At the same time, the quality and safety of imported cars will be continually monitored. In case of discrepancies or consumer complaints, measures will be taken in accordance with current requirements.
It should be noted that at the Pskent test site, a corruption case was uncovered in the electronic vehicle testing procedure. Additionally, UzTest was approached regarding queues at the Pskent testing ground and an issue involving an alleged expertise.
The dissatisfaction among car owners was caused by specialists ceasing to accept applications for the certification of one type of vehicle after an inspection uncovered a defect in a single vehicle. Additionally, recently, car owners in the country have started to complain more about the car certification process, noting that there is no verification process at all and that the vehicles simply remain idle at the landfill for several hours.
