Paid parking in Tashkent will be free
But it won't be for long.

The Tashkent city administration’s press service announced a campaign for drivers in the capital.
Paid parking will be free across the entire city in celebration of the 34th anniversary of the country’s Independence. This generous offer will be available for two days: 31st August and 1st September — the day of the holiday itself.
No fees or fines will be imposed. “Spend your holidays comfortably and peacefully — we are always with you”, — Tashkent Hokimiyat.
The holiday will be celebrated under the slogan “For the sake of the Motherland, for the sake of the nation, for the sake of the people!” Celebrations will take place across all regions, including villages and mahallas. The programme features concerts, open dialogues, film screenings, literary evenings, and mass gatherings. On August 29, Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended a solemn ceremony marking the anniversary of independence in the “New Uzbekistan” park.
Earlier, it was reported that people with hearing impairments in Tashkent had been officially employed as parking attendants.
