In Uzbekistan, the purchase of new cars has become less frequent
The decline in sales affected both domestic and foreign cars.
At the end of the summer of 2025, the sale of passenger cars in Uzbekistan declined, with the decline affecting both foreign and domestically produced cars, according to CERR data.
Compared to July 2025, the passenger car sales indicator decreased by 9.5% in August. At the same time, experts recorded the largest decline in sales in Tashkent, Khorezm, and Kashkadarya regions. At the same time, in Karakalpakstan, Syrdarya, and Andijan regions, on the contrary, growth was recorded.
At the same time, the decrease in sales volumes affected the new passenger cars. Thus, in August, the indicator decreased by 2% and amounted to 37.6 thousand units. Sales of domestically produced passenger cars managed to maintain their dominant position, reaching a sales volume of 32.6 thousand units, decreasing by only 0.8%.
Sales in the new foreign car market also decreased by 9.4% to 4.9 thousand units compared to July 2025.
Earlier, it was reported that Uzbekistan wants to optimize car prices. The authorities will check the cost from local manufacturers, official and unofficial dealers.
