In Uzbekistan, a proposal was made to revoke drivers’ licences for exceeding the speed limit of 100 km/h

The new measures should enforce discipline among drivers and decrease the number of road accidents.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs submitted a draft law with amendments to the Administrative Responsibility Code. The document enhances the accountability of drivers for serious traffic violations and introduces new regulations for vehicle owners.

Согласно проекту:

  • Exceeding the speed limit by more than 100 km/h is punishable by deprivation of the right to drive for six months and a fine of 20 BCV (approximately 8.24 million soums).

  • Parking or leaving trucks on the side of the road, except in cases permitted by the traffic police, will result in a fine of 5 BCV — approximately 2.06 million soums.

  • A new article is being introduced on violation of the procedure for disposal or dismantling of vehicles. If the owner checks the car or surrenders it for spare parts without submitting the technical passport and license plate number, the fine will be 5 BCV (2.06 million soums) for citizens and 10 BCV (4.12 million soums) for officials.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs believes that the changes will help improve road discipline and streamline the handling of vehicles subject to disposal.

Recall that the Ministry of Internal Affairs proposed revoking the rights of malicious traffic offenders for six months. The draft law introduces stricter penalties for drivers who consistently exceed the speed limit, disregard traffic lights, and cross into oncoming lanes.
