“Beautiful” numbers will cease to be sold at auctions

From 1 October, the sale of “beautiful” numbers at auctions will be halted in Uzbekistan, according to a government decree.

Instead, numbers with custom-made letter and number combinations will be issued to individuals and organizations based on electronic applications. The unsold combinations will be distributed among the drivers depending on the category.

The number plates from the 1st to the 3rd categories will be sold directly to Uzavtomotobelgi for a single increased fee, the amount of which will be set by the enterprise. The remaining combinations will be awarded according to the general order. It was instructed to launch a single open database with free combinations of letters and numbers for selecting a number.

Access to it will be provided:

• on the official website of the Road Safety Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs;
• in the mobile application of the RSS;
• through the Single Interactive Portal of State Services;
• in information kiosks on the territory of the registration and examination departments of the RSS.

The database will contain combinations that have not been issued before and are not in circulation. New regional codes (02 for Tashkent, 11 for Tashkent region, etc.) will be put into circulation only if the available combinations for the current code are exhausted by at least 90%. The Ministry of Internal Affairs was instructed to provide the registration offices of the RSS with equipment and materials for stamping numbers upon request.

In addition, it was instructed to create a new system of electronic auctions with “beautiful” numbers. Order plates for vehicles of individuals and legal entities will be issued within 30 minutes. For cars of foreigners, as well as motor vehicles, license plates for orders will be delivered and manufactured within 14 working days.

As a reminder, in Uzbekistan, you can purchase numbers with various combinations of numbers and letters. They should not duplicate the existing state number.
