Authorities delay the rollout of eco-stickers on cars once more
The complete implementation of the programme is now scheduled for 2035.

Earlier, it was reported that in Uzbekistan, starting from Tashkent, the “Environmental Transport” system should be launched, according to which cities and regions will be divided into ecological zones, and relevant stickers will be issued to vehicles.
The system was supposed to start operating from June 1, 2024, but the authorities postponed its launch for nine months, until March 1, 2025. The first stage should cover Tashkent, and the authorities planned to fully implement the system by 2026. Next, until 2028, the same fate will befall Nukus, the regional centers. In the third stage, the system will be extended to the rest of Uzbekistan.
Now the date of introduction of stickers in Tashkent has been postponed to January 1, 2026, in Nukus and regional centers and, if necessary, in individual eco-zones (tourist base, nature reserve, sanatorium and recreation center) — from 2028, and throughout Uzbekistan — from 2031. The full implementation of the program is now planned for 2035.
The territory will be divided according to air pollution into red, yellow, and green zones, or into clean, medium, and harmful zones. Drivers will be given appropriate environmental stickers that will be glued to the windshield. Access to ecological zones for vehicles without a permit will be monitored by violation cameras.
On the territories of ecological zones and their boundaries, the installation of signs that ensure convenient informing of the population must be provided. Information should also be published on online platforms.
To assess the compliance of motor vehicles with environmental standards, the manufacturer’s data on the environmental class (“Euro”) will be used. If there are no relevant documents, the vehicle will be diagnosed by the Center for Innovative Projects and Public Service Delivery under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
