Mass poisoning of children affected another district of the Tashkent region, a criminal case has been initiated, the Children’s Ombudsman’s press service reports.
It turned out that on September 24, children from state preschool institutions in not only Piskent and Buka districts applied to doctors for food poisoning. The incident also affected the Kuyichirchik district. The children complained of fever, nausea, and diarrhea.
On September 25, the Investigative Department of the Regional Department of Internal Affairs initiated a criminal case under part 1 of Article 257-1 (Violation of sanitary legislation or rules for combating epidemics). Initial investigative actions are being carried out. The perpetrators face up to 10 years in prison. The Children’s Ombudsman will continue to monitor the situation.
As a reminder, mass poisoning of children occurred in several kindergartens in the Tashkent region. The Department of Internal Affairs announced the start of the investigation. Specialists took samples of all food products supplied to preschool institutions. The poisoning may have occurred due to poor quality kefir with a fat content of 3.2%, which was produced in the Akkurgan district.
